Complex integration simplified to one cable
Video, touch and power consolidated into a single, universal USB-C interface?
With the simplicity of integration and prototyping pushed into a new dimension of excellence and design freedom? This is what we are proud to add in the toolbox of engineering innovators with our latest Riverdi 10.1” USB-C display series.
See how it transforms the traditionally complex process of HMI development into an elegant, effortless experience.
Cut cable clutter with USB-C Technology
Riverdi 10.1” USB-C Plug and Play Displays are more than just a concept of a major step forward in embedded display technology—they practically simplify and shorten the industrial-grade engineering process. By replacing multiple cables with a single USB-C connection, developers eliminate the need for separate video, touch and power wiring—streamlining installation, reducing BOM complexity and valuable designing time needed. Which means no more need for custom driver development and complicated cable routing.
Supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode for video, USB-HID for touch and USB-C Power Delivery, this solution offers true plug-and-play operation with universal compatibility across platforms and operating systems. Whether you’re building for Linux, Windows or custom embedded environments, integration has never been easier.
Taking a closer look at DisplayPort Alt Mode—primarily used by displays for video transmission—it’s a feature that allows the connector to carry non-USB signals by reassigning some of the high-speed data pins.
To fully benefit from DisplayPort Alt Mode, the host device must support USB 3.1 or higher, as this specification enables the simultaneous transmission of DisplayPort video and USB 3.1 data through the same USB-C interface.
Depending on the application, the USB-C connection can dynamically allocate data lanes:
- 2 lanes for DisplayPort and 2 lanes for USB 3.1, allowing simultaneous support for 4K@60Hz video and up to 10 Gbps data transfer, or
- All 4 lanes for DisplayPort, enabling even higher video resolutions when data transfer isn’t required.
Thanks to this flexible lane allocation, developers can adjust the setup to their specific system needs—whether prioritizing high-resolution video or high-speed data throughput.
In addition, although Riverdi displays use DisplayPort Alt Mode for video, they are also fully compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 devices, as these technologies include DisplayPort signaling capabilities. This ensures broad interoperability across a wide range of industrial and commercial hardware platforms

Built for demanding environments
At its core, the new series is designed for performance and durability. The 10.1” IPS display delivers a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, with brightness levels ranging from 800 to 1000 cd/m²—and even higher with customization. This ensures pure visibility in any lighting condition, including direct sunlight.
The industrial-grade PCAP touchscreen is engineered to perform reliably in harsh conditions: it works with gloves, water on the surface and multi-touch (up to 10 points) reacting to the slightest pressing, as well as supports cover glass thicknesses up to 6mm. With a zero bad pixel guarantee and 10+ years of component availability (including powerful ILITEK Touch IC-ILI2132A), the series is ideal for demanding applications.
Integrated expandability for pro developers
Going beyond display functionality, Riverdi’s USB-C implementation includes an internal USB hub, allowing engineers to connect peripherals like keyboards, memory devices or barcode scanners directly to the display module. Additional features include:
- PWM backlight control
- Speaker output
- External power input options (6–36V) via dedicated connector (P5) for design flexibility
Combined with mounting options such as sleek uxTouch (front mount) for modern designs or traditional aTouch (rear mount) for legacy equipment upgrades, this display can adapt to virtually any industrial, medical or commercial setup. All of which without any holes in the housing.
Full spectrum of industries
Thanks to its universal USB-C connectivity, industrial-grade durability and superior visual performance, this display series is ready to meet the unique challenges of diverse professional environments. From precision-driven medical devices to rugged industrial automation systems and public-facing outdoor terminals.
Industrial automation
What is hon-negotiable in factory floors and industrial control systems? Reliability, ease of integration and durability.
The Riverdi’s USB-C single-cable solution simplifies wiring, reducing installation time and minimizing failure points. The glove- and water-compatible touch interface ensures consistent operation even in environments with moisture, dust or grease. Combined with its high brightness IPS screen, it provides operators with clear and responsive interfaces, boosting productivity and safety. Moreover, its superior EMC, RS (radiated susceptibility) and CS performance (conductive susceptibility) ensures stable operation in noisy industrial environments with heavy electromagnetic interference.
Medical equipment
Not only accurate but also hygienic and dependable. The Riverdi 10.1” display offers optical bonding options for enhanced image contrast, which is critical in diagnostic applications. Its zero bad pixel guarantee ensures uncompromised visual accuracy—a must for clinical use. With 10+ years component availability, medical device manufacturers can ensure long-term product support and stability.
EV charging stations & outdoor terminals
With up to 1000 cd/m² brightness (or even more with customization), Riverdi’s USB-C displays maintain readability under direct sunlight. The industrial PCAP touchscreen continues to operate in rain or when wet, and its firm cover glass can be adjusted for additional protection. Combined with a streamlined installation process, these displays help manufacturers reduce implementation and maintenance costs while enhancing end-user experience.
