En 1982, Philips Semiconductor (aujourd&rsquo;hui NXP) a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une solution qui allait simplifier \u00e0 jamais la conception \u00e9lectronique : le protocole I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit). Des smartphones aux contr\u00f4leurs industriels, le protocole I2C relie discr\u00e8tement les appareils en coulisses. Mais comment fonctionne-t-il exactement et pourquoi est-il si largement utilis\u00e9 ? Voyons cela de plus pr\u00e8s.    <\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Introduction_a_la_communication_I2C\"><\/span>Introduction \u00e0 la communication I2C<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Quest-ce_que_le_protocole_I2C\"><\/span>Qu&rsquo;est-ce que le protocole I2C ?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Imaginez que vous ayez un microcontr\u00f4leur principal qui doit communiquer avec plusieurs capteurs sur une carte. Au lieu d&rsquo;utiliser un c\u00e2ble distinct pour chaque dispositif, l&rsquo;I2C leur permet de communiquer sur deux lignes seulement : SDA (Serial Data) pour le transfert des informations et SCL (Serial Clock) pour la synchronisation. <\/p>\n<p>Cette simplicit\u00e9 est l&rsquo;une des raisons pour lesquelles le protocole I2C est devenu si populaire. Chaque appareil sur le bus poss\u00e8de une adresse unique de 7 ou 10 bits, de sorte que le ma\u00eetre sait exactement \u00e0 qui il s&rsquo;adresse. Dans l&rsquo;\u00e9lectronique grand public, il relie les contr\u00f4leurs tactiles, les \u00e9crans et les puces de gestion de l&rsquo;alimentation des smartphones et des ordinateurs portables. Dans les syst\u00e8mes automobiles, il relie les capteurs qui surveillent la temp\u00e9rature, la pression et la vitesse. Les donn\u00e9es sont transmises de mani\u00e8re synchrone, ce qui signifie que chaque bit est align\u00e9 sur l&rsquo;horloge. Un \u00e9change typique commence lorsque le ma\u00eetre \u00e9met une condition de d\u00e9marrage, en tirant SDA vers le bas tandis que SCL est \u00e9lev\u00e9. Il envoie ensuite l&rsquo;adresse de l&rsquo;appareil et l&rsquo;instruction de lecture\/\u00e9criture.   <\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;esclave r\u00e9pond par un signal d&rsquo;accus\u00e9 de r\u00e9ception (ACK), confirmant qu&rsquo;il est pr\u00eat. Les donn\u00e9es circulent par paquets de 8 bits, chacun suivi d&rsquo;un autre ACK, et enfin, le ma\u00eetre met fin \u00e0 la transaction par une condition d&rsquo;arr\u00eat.
